Web Applications Developer
Job Duties
As a web application developer you will spend your time writing new code and improving existing code so that web applications work properly. You will work closely with the system testers to spot any bugs in the programming code and fix any resulting problems. Weekly or bi-weekly progress meetings are sometimes required in larger offices so that the applications developers know what other programmers are working on and where there might be trouble with the code. Developers should have excellent verbal and written communications skills so they can communicate with others about the work they are performing on the application.
Training and Background
As a web application developer you are expected to know the programming language that is needed to develop applications. This can be C++, Perl, php, Javascript, Linux/Unix, Ruby on Rails and other languages. Developers are expected to hit the ground running as soon as they start.
